We are pleased to announce that Dickow Pumpen GmbH & Co. KG has again received the silver seal in the EcoVadis Corporate Social Responsibility Rating 2022 for its sustainability management. In the overall rating, Dickow Pumpen is in the top 8 % of companies assessed by EcoVadis in the general machinery manufacturing industry.
This year, Dickow Pumpen is again asserting itself in its sustainability strategy. In the 21 criteria, which are divided into the four subject areas: Labor and Human Rights, Environment, Sustainable Procurement and Ethics, the company repeatedly positions itself above the industry average. It is also pleasing to note that since the company was assessed in 2019, it has seen an improvement in its rating. "The silver award once again confirms that we are on the right track and that gold status is within reach. We will continue to strive to drive the company's progress in the future and continue to follow and expand our sustainability guideline" said Mr. Bornemann, Managing Director. "Besides our intrinsic motivation to make Dickow Pumps better, there are also external factors that motivate us. More and more customers are asking questions about the social and environmental performance of their business partners. That's where it's good to be able to meet the increasing demands and continuously improve." One of the company's next steps toward gold status is ISO14001 certification. The standard provides another systematic approach to planning, implementing and managing an environmental management system and is one of the prerequisites for achieving gold status in the coming year.
Nevertheless, the measures already initiated are impressive. In this year's EcoVadis evaluation, Dickow Pumpen scored points in the environment category with its own photovoltaic system and the generation of renewable energies, with its measures for dealing with hazardous substances or the reuse/recycling of waste. In the area of labor and human rights, the company impresses with its company health care for its employees and an implemented safety and occupational health committee. For sustainable procurement, regular supplier assessments on ecological and social practices take place in the company. In addition, conflict minerals, for example, are given special consideration in the supplier selection process. The guideline on the subject of corruption or also the company policy on the subject of data protection of Dickow Pumpen complement, among other points, the very good result in the ethics category.
Since its foundation in 2007, EcoVadis has become the world's largest provider of sustainability ratings for companies. As a recognized and independent assessment platform, EcoVadis reviews corporate social responsibility based on international sustainability standards. The goal of EcoVadis is to make corporate social responsibility performance transparent to business partners. In addition, EcoVadis supports companies in improving CSR performance in operations.
The seal is valid until March 2023. After that, a reassessment by the EcoVadis consulting company is necessary.
